Pudra Pudra is an idiosyncratic serif typeface influenced by the contrast of sharp ski edges and soft powder snow — balancing precise cuts with natural round forms. Designed for legibility at text sizes, Pudra also includes unique details that distinguish it in larger headline sizes.
The name Pudra (Пудра), Russian for cosmetic powder, was chosen for its close phonetic resemblance to 'powder' rather than other Russian terms for powder snow (пухляк, пороша).
Crafted in 2014 at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) under the guidance of Cyrus Highsmith of Occupant Fonts. Pudra takes influence from Value Serif by Benjamin Critton (2012) and GT Sectra by Grilli Type (2013).
